The ideal is to choose a flight with a layover in Jeddah (JED) or Medina (MED) long enough (minimum 48-72 hours) to complete the rites. Several major airlines offer these connections:
- Saudia (SV) – national carrier, direct flights Paris/Jeddah and Paris/Medina, connections to Asia
- flynas (XY) – Saudi low-cost, competitive prices on European routes
- Turkish Airlines (TK) – via Istanbul, great option for those who also wish to visit Turkey
- Emirates (EK) – via Dubai, excellent connections to South-East Asia
Getting to Paris CDG, Lyon or Marseille by Train

Domestic Flights in Saudi Arabia
If you arrive in Jeddah and wish to visit Medina (or vice versa), Saudia and flynas domestic flights are a quick option. However, the Haramain High-Speed Railway (HHR) remains the best alternative: 2 hours between Jeddah and Medina with a stop at Mecca.
