The Rawdah (الروضة) refers to the area between the minbar of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and his sacred chamber. The Prophet said: “What lies between my house and my minbar is a garden among the gardens of Paradise.” (Sahih Bukhari). It is one of the most sought-after places on Earth for Muslims.

Booking Access via Nusuk

Since 2021, access to the Rawdah is exclusively through the Nusuk app. Without a booking, you will be turned away by security guards.

  1. Open the Nusuk app and sign in to your account
  2. Select “Rawdah” from the permits menu
  3. Choose your time slot (usually 2 hours per session)
  4. Download your QR code — it will be scanned at the entrance

Slots are limited and fill up quickly. Book as soon as you arrive in Medina, or even from Saudi Arabia from the very first day.

Available Time Slots

  • Sessions available 24/7, typically in 2-hour blocks
  • Separate sections for men and women (different entrances)
  • Slot after Fajr and after Isha = the most spiritual but also the most in demand

How to Make the Most of Your Visit

  • Arrive 15 minutes before your slot with the QR code ready
  • Perform your ablutions before coming — you will not have time to do them on-site
  • Prepare your duas in advance — you will only have a few minutes in the zone
  • Pray for yourself, your family, and Muslims around the world
  • Do not rush to touch the gates — stay present in devotion

If You Cannot Get a Slot

During peak season, slots may be unavailable for several days. In that case:

  • Pray in the area near the Rawdah (the barakah radiates beyond the gates)
  • Check the Nusuk app several times a day — slots may open up due to cancellations

Preparing for Your Rawdah Visit

Since 2021, access to the Rawdah is managed exclusively through the Nusuk app. Booking is free but slots fill up fast — ideally book the day before or in the morning for same-day access. Slots after Fajr and Isha are the most popular.

The process is straightforward: open Nusuk, select “Rawdah,” choose your slot (30 minutes), and present your QR code at the entrance. Access is separate for men and women, with distinct spaces that are equally blessed.

Invocations Not to Forget

  • Send Salat (Al-Salatu ala an-Nabi) upon entering the zone
  • Stand facing the tomb for salutations (Salam)
  • Take advantage of the tranquility for your personal duas — avoid taking photos out of respect
  • Do not linger too long — other pilgrims are waiting
