Umrah Visa: Tourist E-Visa or Classic Umrah Visa?

Since 2019, Saudi Arabia has simplified access to its territory with the tourist e-visa. For eligible nationals, this is the fastest and most flexible way to perform Umrah. Here is everything you need to know.
The Saudi Tourist E-Visa
Available at visa.visitsaudi.com, the e-visa is accessible to nationals of 66+ countries, including France, but also to holders of a valid Schengen, US or UK visa (and used at least once).
- Validity: 1 year, multiple entries, max 90-day stay
- Cost: approximately €100 (402 SAR), medical insurance included
- Processing time: 24 to 72h
- The e-visa allows Umrah without going through an approved agent
Classic Umrah Visa (for those not eligible for e-visa)
Indonesian or Pakistani nationals without a valid Schengen/US/UK visa must go through an approved agent (PPIU in Indonesia) to obtain an Umrah visa. This visa is subject to seasonal closures around Hajj.
- Process: approved agent → Siskopatuh/Nusuk system → visa issued
- Processing time: 3 to 7 working days
- Cost: approximately $155 to $205 per person
Required Documents (E-Visa)
- Passport valid 6 months after entry date
- Recent digital ID photo
- Bank card (online payment)
- For Schengen holders: valid visa + entry stamp in passport
Post-Visa Steps: Register on Nusuk
Once your visa is obtained, create an account on the Nusuk app (iOS/Android). You will need to book your hotel, transport and obtain your Umrah permit before entering the Haram.
